Ferris Wheel.

Unimportant trivia: The ferris wheel was invented by a man by the name of George Ferris (har har why am I not surprised?) ;p

Ferris Wheel - Odaiba Park, Tokyo. I want. In January (even if it means I'll have to get on it by myself).

After being asked the question about what my dream date would be, I thought about it and said, "A ferris wheel. It's definitely got something to do with a ferris wheel somewhere, sometime, with someone."

Aren't ferris wheels the most utterly romantic things on earth? :>

Hooked on Leon Lai for the night. Promise me you wouldn't tell anyone (this one's especially for you, Pig ;p)

What would I do if you were at home with me tonight?

You're the only one
Fills my fantasy room
Never gonna stop
All the fantasies
I live my life, I live my life
For you.

Drive.

Okay, I passed driving with 96 percent this time. "No silly mistakes today!" said Vicki.

Please congratulate me all of you or I swear I won't drive you when I get back to Singapore ;p

Z taking test later today at 1355 hrs. Talk about uncanny coincidences O_o

Going to pig out and watch TV now ^_^

I drove all night to get to you
Is that alright?
I drove all night.

Blurred vision.

So I was thinking just now, why am I always so hasty in passing judgements on people (in particularly new friends) when I don't know them well? The problem with me is, my judgements sometimes end up being totally opposite from reality, and it can be quite shocking and hurting all at the same time. Oh well. I guess the only thing I can be thankful for, after this mini episode, is that I managed to salvage my dignity before it went down the dumps. Thank you Calcium for sharing your thoughts, I know for sure it isn't me.

... And I truly hope you'll be okay :)

2nd attempt at driving tomorrow 11.15 am, good luck to me. Meanies, if I don't pass again tomorrow, you guys know where to find me - or rather, my remains (hint: the last place where we took pics).

Oh you probably won't remember me
It's probably ancient history

I fell too fast I feel too much

On how to be insensitive?

Falling snow?

Yes everyone may be reading this blog but I'm sorry to say I just don't get it.

Shoot me all you supporters out there!!! ;p

Pretty dead Sunday I had. Stayed home to watch another 3 episodes of '24', lazed about then went out to QV Safeway with the fat cousin for groceries (yes despite the love-hate relationship we still go out together). Came home just in time to watch Australian Idol and cook dinner - actually, Blob was the one who made dinner for both of us *GasP!!!!* 'cos yours truly was too preoccupied with the TV :p Well, it sure feels good to be pampered once in a while (despite it being the wrong person to receive it from) -_-

Did practically nothing this weekend because all major assignments have been completed, save for my 2nd driving test this Wednesday, Japanese oral test on Thursday and project submission on Friday. Then it's time for the study break, exams and flying home ... for 12 weeks ;>

Got driving at 9.45 later. Kill me.

I can see the pain living in your eyes
And I know how hard you try
You deserve to have so much more.

Air Supply - Goodbye.

I'm sorry, Z.

Gorgeous?

Where have all our beautiful people gone to?

Or did we even have any to start with?

Shall we dance?

I liked it very much ;> But J. Lo was just so wrong with her gigantic butt and chunky body.

But my "best friend" Richard (Gere) is so, so, hot!!!! Considering he is way into his fifties ... *swoons and drops dead*

Just how sexy is a charming, mature men in a tux?!?

With an electrifying smile, red rose in his right hand, going up an escalator?!?

I like ;>

To all of you reading this - If you are a good dancer, I'm jealous of you.

Maybe the thing that's so intriguing about love is just the chase. The more you know you can't have it, the more you crave for it ... And when you finally hold it in your hands it doesn't seem that precious or worth cherishing anymore.

Was listening to Collin Raye's "Love, Me" a few days ago on the tram, which almost brought me to tears nevermind. And then I thought to myself, if only love in the real world could be that simple.

And between now and then
Till I see you again
I'll be loving you

Love, Me.

Drool.

Hard Rock dinner on Tuesday night - sorry for being a cheapo, Pig, but I pinched them off your blog ;p

All of this food, to be shared among only three people (uh, pigs).

Have you ever seen anything like this?

All of this food, to be shared among only three people (uh, pigs) ;p

"Kiss me. Kiss me as if it were the last time."

I finally found time to watch "Casablanca" yesterday morning. I didn't think it deserved all that hulabaloo (borrrrring film I thought it was) save for certain quotes here and there, but I guess for a 1942 film it can be considered quite an achievement.

Or maybe it was due to the fact that I watched it immediately after I woke up? O_o

I guess our love story will never be seen
On the big wide silver screen
But it hurt just as bad when I had to watch you go.

Bertie Higgins - Casablanca.

Next film on the list is the Godfather (Godpa ;p) trilogy. Man, are we on a classics roll (literally!).

Caramel Macchiato.

Good grief, it is now 7.22 am and I haven't had the chance to sleep yet. Spent the entire night (er, morning actually) preparing for an ungraded (UNGRADED!!!!) presentation (amongst the other usual distractions of course! ;p) - Like, huh?! I think I've gone mad.

Don't know how I am going to survive the day, with class from 11 am to 2 pm straight and then driving from 2.15-3.45 ... not to mention a dinner promise with one of my Japanese 1B classmates. I am screwed.

The reason I am able to stay awake till now is because I had my faithful dosage of a Tall caramel macchiato from Starbucks immediately after dinner just now and therefore it kept me *kinda* awake. I am so tired now I feel like just crashing for 2 hours, but at the same time there doesn't seem to be any point in sleeping NOW.

But then again, nothing better to energize me than 2 plays of Utada Hikaru's "Automatic" on a morning like this.

It's automatic
Soba ni iru dake de
Sono me ni mitsumerareru dake de

Utada Hikaru - Automatic.

In my opinion, Hikki beats Ayumi Hamasaki anytime.

Hard Rock.

Nothing beats a good dinner with close friends. Had a sumptuous dinner with Piggy and Gunther at Hard Rock Cafe earlier on and right now there is no other word to describe us other than stuffed. Did not bring my camera for pictures but Gunther took some ... so after I get them off him I'll post them and make all of you drool drool drool! Food was just okay, but service was top-notch and each of us gave a $2 tip ... which isn't alot really, but it's the thought that counts? ;p

Handed in geography essay today, finally. I'm so glad that all my major assignments are out of the way at the moment, save for a tutorial presentation on Thursday (you don't know how happy I am, seriously). But that presentation is ungraded, so it's all good!! Looking forward to catching J. Lo and Richard Gere on "Shall We Dance" this Friday.

I'm kinda gravitating towards watching "Before Sunset" again, but I'm not sure if I really want to spend the money.

On a (very) happy note, I added an eye candy to MSN today. Let's see how long it lasts. Note to self: Do not try too hard.

Bern turns 4 today. One thing though ... this year it's just different without her eldest brother around.

Wasted.

My current MSN nick is, lynn: it's such a waste when a cute face gets totally ruined by acne.

Today I spent an hour talking, for the first time, to this mixed Aussie-Jap guy on the patch of grass outside the Baillieu Library (knew each other's existence from Kendo Club prior to today but we just never spoke to each other before). He had a really cute face and charming smile, but ... the only BUT was, he had a very bad case of pimples and acne. It was a waste, a really big waste -_-

But his personality more than made up for that slight shortcoming ;>

After being in Melbourne for more than two years now, I'd hate to admit this but most Asian guys (well to be more precise, Singaporean ;p) of this generation cannot hold a candle to Australian guys of the same age group, in terms of maturity and the way they carry themselves.

I wonder why?

Note to self: The next person whom I'll date (or at least go on a romantic date with) would either be Angmoh, Japanese, or most preferably an equal mix of both ;p

Stuffed.

Nothing's going on in my life recently except for the fact that I've got a 2000 word essay on trafficking of women and its relationship with the tourism industry in Thailand, due MONDAY. I did something like that last semester for a different subject so this time I should supposedly write it a little bit faster. They key word here is supposedly.

There the whole cycle goes - it was DOK's birthday yesterday and tonight, instead of working on my assignment I am giving him a Teppanyaki treat (I hope the chef this time is a nihonjin though). And as if tonight's procrastination wasn't bad enough ...

After repeatedly (repeatedly as in THREE times) declining to join the gang for dinner last night, they still called at 10pm asking if I wanted to go watch Collateral. I swear they were doing it on purpose because they very well knew that being the movie buff that I am, I wouldn't be able to resist the temptation of a movie and Tom Cruise. So I went ... only to reach home close to 2 am, unable to start on my work.

Just how screwed up can I get? With 9 marks already down the drain?

On the tram journey home I sat back-to-back with an Indian father carrying a month-old baby (seemingly so) and throughout the journey from Bourke Street to the Arts Centre (which isn't a very long time if you think about it) but, that annoying little twerp was screaming and bawling at the top of its little lungs. The poor father was trying so desperately to shut the baby up because it was attracting so much attention from everyone. I looked behind me and rolled my eyes - "idiotic brat", I thought to myself.

At that moment I had half a mind to stick a knife into its chest wring its neck till its last breath offer to get some milk because it looked hungry.

Hang on, little tomato!

I am dazed and numb. I know I have to see her again, cannot believe we have been thrown together by chance like this, unless this is meant to lead to something better for us both. I don't understand this feeling or where it is taking me.

Even if I had known, I would not, could not, have stopped.

Amused.

I may be a major in Japanese and pretty much into Jap culture, and no don't get me wrong, I think they're awesome and all, but one thing which kills me about the Japanese is their amazing command of English. I present to all, various signs and posters from the land of the Rising Sun...

Apparently they've got hazardous babies in Japan.

Ever seen a boiled human?

Until then, please find something to do.

Free for all to see.

Uh... just the perfect place to lure your enemies into?

Ah, so that explains the stench!

And last but not least, the grand finale.

Specially-constructed erection decks for all men when the need arises... (well in Japan you never know)

Isn't it really strange and weird how a developed country like Japan, who takes so much pride in her image and reputation (towards the West in particular), cannot hire qualified translators when creating their signs?!?

In exile.

After "Message in a Bottle" and "A Walk to Remember", I've decided that "The Notebook" is the last Nicholas Sparks' movie I will ever watch. Enough is enough.

"Do you think our love can create miracles?"

"I believe our love can do anything..."

My GOD. Can anything else get worse than lines like these?!?!?!

Despite being a self-confessed sappy movie lover I must say that ... nope, that cheesy ending did not make the cut for me.

Thanks for the movie recommendation, hj and kaelyn (note the sarcasm). ;p

Had an amazing guest lecturer from NUS History Department today for Modern Southeast Asia lecture. Her familiar accent made me feel like I was sitting in a lecture back home, and it felt so good ;> I think the fact that she was giving a talk on Thai history helped. Alot.

On another note, despite my warning letter, the people upstairs are at it again. Shall wait another twenty minutes before I pound the ceiling with my shinai and scream "SHUT THE F*** UP!!!!!!!" (pun intended).

I have nothing.

I was watching Australian Idol II earlier on (yes yes, TV reigns above my assignment due in less than 24 hours), and I must say that this season's contestants are so much more worth watching than last year's.

The song that the first contestant performed really caught my attention... because she was just so, so good.

Don't make me close one more door
I don't wanna hurt anymore
Stay in my arms if you dare
Must I imagine you there?
Don't walk away from me
I have nothing, nothing, nothing
If I don't have you.

Whitney Houston - I Have Nothing.

Sigh. Name me just one female singer better than her.

Okay, it's back to work (and school) -_-

Saturday, October 02, 2004

If only I'd known earlier...

... that I was going to get my essay extended till Monday (or God knows when), I should have just booked a flight to Tokyo at the beginning of the holidays and be over and done with it.

My essay could possibly be sitting at a corner right now waiting to be handed in.

WTF.

The final weekend.

It's back to uni on Monday, and here's an evaluation of my study break (well, I think I could call it a vacation - it's just me though):

Supposed to have completed:

1) 2500-word history essay by the 28 September, and has now been extended to .... nevermind.

2) Japanese composition task preparation - test worth 10% on 7 October

3) 2000-word geography essay by 8 October (this is when a 4-day medical certificate has dual functions)

.... of which I have not completed any.

This is procrastination at its highest level - knowing that an assignment is due soon (by the word "soon" I mean it like the feeling of shit dying to emerge from your butt) but yet not feeling the least bit worried about not being able to hand it in on time. I really wanted to start early, I really really did, and had high hopes of finishing early so I could have time to edit ... given the repeated extensions I have just for this assignment. But every night there will definitely be something to distract me from work. Last-minute lunches and dinners which I just cannot resist (they stretch till very late I tell you), TV, MSN, email, phone calls. File transfers, early-morning chats with Piggy, etc etc etc ... and then before I know it, hey it's 7 am and time for bed. Wake up the next day at 2 pm feeling shitty that it's so late already, then continue with the vicious cycle. Slack. Eat. Go out. Watch TV. Slack. Play. Go online. When is this going to end?

This has been the most difficult semester ever. I can't settle down to do my work or study. I just can't. And more than anything else I can't wait for the semester to be over and done with.

Why Lynn why? Why is this happening now?

To make things worse, exam timetable was released today. I have my papers on the 18th and 25th of November. And with less than 2 days to rest and pack, I am flying home on the 27th, just for Jay Chou in concert. BLAH!!!!!!! -_-

Nat says I should just defer.
