When you leave.

"In this revolving door of life where nothing stands still, if I could be anything to you, I want to be the one face you always remember, the one voice that always sings for you." - Tanya Chua.

People who are close to me will know that when it comes to guys, I have a very soft spot for the musician, especially if he plays awesome guitar and sings in a husky rock voice. I was sitting alone at Starbucks just two days ago, when I randomly thought of my ultimate guitar guy fantasies... and came up with my very own list. Remember that it is not always about the looks, but that bad-ass attitude. And in no particular order, my charming band guitarists:

Everyday
With every worthless word we get more far away
The distance between us makes it so hard to stay
But nothing lasts forever but be honest babe
It hurts but it may be the only way

She is strung out on a TV dream
And she's the taste of gasoline

And she is similar as you can get

To the shape of a cigarette

Nobody said it was easy
Oh it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard

Your love's a gathered storm I chased across the sky
A moment in your arms became the reason why
And you're still the only light that fills the emptiness

The only one I need until my dying breath

You want me?
Fucking well come and find me
I'll be waiting
With a gun and a pack of sandwiches

P'Hack from Clash.
I can't read nor type Thai, so I am sorry I have no lyrics :p
But trust me, this man plays GUITAR.

... Now that I've got the celebs, where is my guitar prince in real life? x_x

Of nostalgia and memories of growing up.

Eric Moo in concert, 6 October 2007

Truth be told I've been wanting to watch him in concert since 2003, but in the two years (2003 and 2005) that he'd held his concerts in SG, I was away in Melbourne. It also does not help that I've heard so much about how good his live concerts are -_- This year, however, I managed to come home in the nick of time to fulfill my wish, with very high expectations of a quality Wu Qixian concert!

Encore #2 in plain T-shirt and denim berms

I stuck out like a sore thumb amidst the crowd of mostly 30-something and above, but I knew all the hits. I sang along, I screamed, I cheered, I felt his emotions... and the memories kept coming back. This song was from Primary __; I first got to know that song when a friend was practising it at some chalet we had back in the early 1990s...

And how could anyone NOT be moved to tears, when the audience spent almost five minutes screaming for another encore and refusing to leave *AFTER* the lights came on, he reappeared on stage in no more than a plain T-shirt and berms, initially with the intention to say goodbye one last time, but ended up delivering another two songs, all unplanned and without band support?!?!

This will definitely be one of my favourite moments of the year...

Bye bye blackbird.

The dysfunctional family of five before saying goodbye at the airport.
Seriously, only with you guys man, only with you guys.

Dizzy up the girl.

My life in Melbourne: 3 July 2002 - 3 Oct 2007

And so I have officially said goodbye to Melbourne, the place I called home for the past five years and three months.

It feels like the hardest thing I have ever done in my life.

Feelings are distant
And I know guilt by name
It was the hardest thing
Watching you slip away.

Ash - Sometimes.
