Amores perros.

Dear Gael,

You look absolutely appalling sometimes but that is what makes you special and I love you anyway!!! :D

Happy 28th birthday, feliz cumpleaños!!!

xoxo

What kind of a fan am I? His birthday is not until November 30 -_- Meanwhile, no more blogging until I feel free enough to do so. @#%@#@@!%#$&^!!!!!!

PS: I just found out that I'd confused Dermot (Mulroney)'s birthday with Gael's - I am such a bad bad fan :p But Happy Belated 43rd Birthday Dermot!

I'm confessin'.

I woke up this morning after five hours of sleep, feeling stressed and miserable about the next few days to come, dragged myself to the university library to do some research, did some photocopying while still feeling miserable, still felt miserable after that, and then out of the blue at the Reserve section, as if in a dreamlike moment, I ran into the one person who immediately made it all go away...

In your eyes
I read such strange things.

Con te partiro.

This has got to be one of the most relaxed Sunday afternoons I've had in a long time (well, not that I haven't got a shitload of work left to do, but...). In fact I have totally tuned out from doing work since Thursday evening after I handed in the bloody 2000-word paper at 5pm. It's so difficult to get down to work when the weather out there is glorious and sunny, and most importantly your room is soooooooo clean you can't bear to dirty it with all that horrible research material and books and notes. Moonface fell flat on my bedroom floor, with outstretched arms and legs, screaming "OMG, I see the FLOOR!!!!!" (photo evidence above) upon entering my room yesterday evening.

So I now have a tidy and vacuumed room, my laundry is done and the kitchen is clean. I love to procrastinate during my busiest, most stressful times of the year.

You're just like a flower
In the deep sunshine.

Question: How much do I adore uniquely artsy men who are lead singers of a Brit-rock band with tons of attitude?!

Sighhhhhh. Brett Anderson and that voice of his. And that IDon'tGiveAHoot attitude. Yum.

I seriously think YouTube is the best website ever, especially for oldies like myself. I happily spend so much time searching for, and watching, music videos of the songs I grew up with. Found videos of Suede, The Escape Club, Stephen Bishop (yes, that song), and The Eagles... most of which I've never seen before, because I never appreciated music videos as a child and now I do not have Cable TV (i.e. I don't have MTV channel!!!). Thanks to technology, they're all back online and taking me back to my childhood and teenage days. Ah, this thing called technology and my love-hate relationship with it.

I want you to notice
When I'm not around
You're so fucking special
I wish I was special.

Air for life.

An MSN conversation with a (vegetarian) friend who shall not be named ;)

Me: Yup, and I'll buy you dinner.

K: Noooo. Not necessary... come on. It's just something I do that I enjoy.

Me: Ok whatever. But what about dinner anyway? DUTCH.

K: Dutch? Might be hard coz I eat vegetables lol :P

Me: (thinks to self) ........................

Me: Dutch means we pay for ourselves, not that we are eating dutch food.

PS: We met up seven hours ago, for the first time - and despite all the initial anxieties I think I might have found, in K, a new friend whom I enjoy being with and talking to...

You think you know me well, but you don't know me.

I've had the best start ever to the final week of the semester, and then I realise that sometimes, it's the littlest, most trivial things in life that can matter so much...

But I promise you this
I'll always look out for you
That's what I'll do.

Tainted love.

With a Japanese grammar and vocab test in 12 hours (which I seriously have to study for), the last thing I should be doing now is change my blog template and write an entry immediately after. But I decided that Jielun has been on my layout for way too long (the Initial-D craze is soooo over) and it's time my blog had a fresh new look. I'd definitely much prefer a new template that reflects more on my personality, but as you guys already know, I am hopeless with technology, so this will have to do for now.

So this entire week has been nothing short of BIZARRE, as my previous entry has suggested... I came to realise not one, not two, but FOUR coincidences within four days and I am in fact still reeling from the shock and surreality of it all. The Stephen K. Amos comedy event, the birthday party, whom a 'new friend' of mine really was (the uncanny name coincidence, the close proximity, O-M-G), and then the PJGG incident at Safeway (this probably tops everything else).

It's so difficult for me to put into words exactly how out of this world this week was. It was definitely heart-stoppingly exciting yes, but bizarre happenings like these seriously have to stop happening in such a short period of time, my heart cannot take it :)

Yesterday afternoon, after I'd missed the last tram that would take me to the gym on time, I decided on impulse that the weather was too good for me to stay at home, and that I would head down to St Kilda Beach for a stroll and do some studying... which of course didn't quite happen because the weather was beautiful and I was seated too comfortably in a basketweave swing with a cappuccino, looking out to sea and watching the world go by. I had some awesome time to myself to reflect on random things, but I guess having some company would have been nice too.

St Kilda Beach - very very therapeutic. And I am so glad I live no more than 15 minutes away.

These words.

My life, though pretty much uneventful, is filled with too many BIZARRE coincidences...

Whatever happens, don't let go of my hand.

I wish time could stop right at this very moment, and that I didn't have to live through these two months. True, come November 13 and I'll have more than three months of summer holidays to play my heart out (and work on the thesis, sigh), but until that happens I absolutely DO NOT want to live the days in between now and the final Japanese exam...

Places I would rather be now, if I had (unlimited) time and cash:

- Japan
- Thailand
- Vietnam
- Myanmar
- New York
- Vegas
- Singapore
- Cinema Nova (for the indie)
- Hoyts (for the Hollywood)
- The Chinese restaurant we all love, in Boxhill
- St Kilda Beach
- A random quaint little cafe, sipping coffee and reading Murakami

PS: I'm officially hooked on Jielun's new CD! o_O

Love letters in the sand.

Getting to know you
Getting to feel free and easy
When I am with you
Getting to know what to say

Haven't you noticed
Suddenly I'm bright and breezy?
Because of all the beautiful and new
Things I'm learning about you
Day by day...

Chocolate muffins. Extra pencil. Good luck. Screwed up writing test. Fringe Festival. Lunch. Talk. Languages. Birthdays. Driving. Travel. Thailand.

Definitely a day to remember, for many many reasons...

The glory and wonder of you.

At the Royal Melbourne Show last week - I really, really wanted to go on this (it was probably the only ride there that didn't require me to puke my lungs out after), but Moonface also pointed out that everyone on it (or queueing for it) looked like they were below the age of 12. We are indeed growing up too fast and too soon.

But that aside, this is a gorgeous photo taken with her fat-ass camera. The colours from the ride machine, the kids on the swings, the sky and the clouds blend in so nicely together. I love it!

10% Japanese writing test on Monday. Umm... it is a little past ten on Saturday night and a couple of hours ago, I made dinner and sat back on the couch to watch "Two Weeks Notice". Oh, and I also went online to see what's going to be on TV tomorrow.

It isn't your sweet conversation
That brings this sensation
Oh no
It's just the nearness of you.

On a bed of nails she makes me wait.

As you guys already know, I am a closet chick-lit/flick person (I mean, I enjoyed "Confessions Of A Shopaholic" and "Mean Girls"!). Went to see "The Devil Wears Prada" last night at Hoyts, thanks to Luan for $8.50 tickets, and though I obviously wouldn't call it quality film, it was enjoyable and a great way to start the weekend! ^_^ Anne Hathaway, with the right makeup and designer clothing, was actually quite the clothes horse! And while you'd expect a film like that (think fashion industry, magazine, modelling, clothes, etc) to be FULL of eye candy of both sexes, the men were an utter disappointment -_- My God, where do I even start? Andy's boyfriend, and that beefy guy she hooked up with in Paris?! Both of them were FUGLY (and we couldn't stop turning to one other countless times during the movie to cringe at how gross they looked :p)!! There were a couple of babes nonetheless, but the producers really could have gotten better-looking men for a film like... hello? "The Devil Wears Prada"? Even Matthew McConaughey (whom I absolutely cannot stand) would have looked good in their roles...

And trust me when I say you DO NOT want to be me right now. Just for the record, here's a general overview of what my life will look like for the next couple of weeks:

1) 10% Writing Test, 9 Oct

2) 8% Grammar & Vocabulary Test, 16 Oct

3) 20% Speaking Test, 18 Oct (so dead for this one)

4) Class presentation, 19 Oct

5) 14% Speaking Test, 23 Oct

6) 40% 2000-word essay, 26 Oct

7) 60% 3000-word essay, 3 Nov

8) 40% 2000-word essay, 3 Nov

9) 40% exam, 8 Nov

10) 40% exam, 13 Nov

...... Sigh. Anyone interested in trading places?
