Total eclipse of the heart.

I have been blogging incessantly (in fact, just doing stupid memes) these days because I have too much work to do. It doesn't make sense, I know, but you get the idea.

The 24 Things Meme

1. I have an intense phobia of large bodies of water. I avoid travelling by boat/ship as much as I can.

2. Apart from the actual 'O'-Level exam itself, in which I attained a shocking B, I have never actually passed one single Physics assessment in secondary school.

3. I always sleep with music on because it gives me a sense of security.

4. As weird as this sounds, I am very glad about my parents' divorce - it did both of them alot of good and it is comforting to know that they are happy without each other.

5. When I was in secondary school I always made my dad and my aunt do my Art and Home Economics homework respectively, because I thought these two subjects were crap.

6. I wish you were still a part of our family - not that you aren't anymore, but it would be great if I could actually talk, eat, and laugh with you.

7. I am bloody proud of the fact that I grew up in a bilingual environment - an extra language is always an asset!

8. When I was younger I used to dream about marrying my first boyfriend, but now I want to have my fun with as many people as possible and have given up on committing to a relationship.

9. An attraction to someone happens either instantaneously, or never. This means, for example, that I can never suddenly fall for someone I have known for two years.

10. My secondary school years, even though I had no idea what I was doing half the time, were the best days of my teenage life.

11. I will never understand why you had the heart to say the things you said, and did the things you did, to me.

12. I resent the fact that I never had enough determination to stick to my past interests and hobbies. Piano, guitar, chinese orchestra, art classes ... all went down the drain, and I regret letting them go then because it is too late to turn back now.

13. I pretend to care about your fucking girlfriend, but honestly I don't give a rat's ass about her and I am not ashamed of it. I also get a thrill out of asking you out whenever I'm back just so I could 'worry' her.

14. I want to see Wang Jie, Whitney Houston, and George Michael in concert before I die, regardless of whether it is possible or not.

15. As a kid I always told my mother to adopt 10 siblings from an orphanage so I could play with them, but now I am appreciative of the fact that I am an only child.

16. I am terrified of not being able to single-handedly support my parents in the future.

17. I do not wish to get married or have children, so I have decided to keep you as Plan B; my insurance policy against dying alone with my cat 50 years later.

18. I wish time would pass by slower, so I don't have to leave Melbourne or face the real world.

19. I have a thing for men who are artistically-inclined. Men who can sing and play a musical instrument win me over anytime.

20. I am a very sensitive person, at times too sensitive for my own good. I read into things too deeply, I worry about what others think about me even though I always tell myself that I don't have to give a hoot.

21. My childhood ambition was to become a porter at some swanky high-class hotel. No kidding.

22. I am in the midst of being set up for a blind date with someone I have absolutely no idea about, and I have to admit that I am quite excited and looking forward to it.

23. My room never stays neat and tidy for more than 24 hours.

24. I am generally happy with the way I was brought up and the values that I have been taught, but to a certain extent I also feel that I have been too sheltered and protected, so much so that I have never dared to deviate from how I have been expected to behave and act. I find myself way too predictable, too safe, and too afraid to try new things. I have never been overly rebellious, never done drugs, never smoked, hell I don't even enjoy clubbing, and I cannot help but wonder about the WHAT IFs.

Baby if I told you the right words
At the right time
You'll be mine.
