The one you love.
Slack, slack day. Woke up close to 3 (err.. in the afternoon, mind you!) then went online discussing dinner venues with Piggy, mm and Nat... who happened to spark off this sudden mood for Danny Chan songs (DANNY the legend, not DANIEL who can't sing ;p). After exchanging a few Danny songs, which were really, really good... it was time to get ready for dinner - at Blue Sky Cafe.
All-girl Saturday nights are great fun, when after dinner you gather as a small group at Starbucks on Collins, sipping coffee and talking about life's little bits in general - love, relationships, friends, family, marriage, work. Knowing what one another thinks and how they'd respond to different situations in life; issues that aren't usually discussed on a normal day. I like the idea of getting to know more about your close friends through conversations such as these, though they were nothing really deep. It's really intriguing how we fit so well together when we are, in reality, poles apart in terms of so many aspects.
Was listening to Glenn Frey's "The One You Love" earlier on.
Are you gonna stay with the one who loves you
Or are you going back to the one you love?
Old song, but such thought-provoking lyrics.
Which brings to mind a (tricky?) question: Which would you choose? The one who loves you, or the one you love?
Thoughts, anyone?
We tried to talk it over but words got in the way
We're lost inside this lonely game we play.
The Carpenters/George Benson - This Masquerade.
The 16th time I am repeating this song tonight.
