If I expected love when first we kissed
Blame it on my youth

If only just for you I did exist
Blame it on my youth

I believed in everything
Like a child of three

You meant more than anything
All the world to me

If you were on my mind both night and day
Blame it on my youth

If I forget to eat and sleep and pray
Blame it on my youth

If I cried a little bit when first I learned the truth
Don't blame it on my heart

Blame it on my youth

Jane Monheit - Blame It On My Youth.

Haven't heard such a sad song in a while. Three days ago while on the way to school in the tram, I was repeating this song in my player throughout the whole journey and before I knew it, I felt this strange tingling feeling in my nose and realised I was actually tearing. Not that it hit home in any way or other, but it was just terribly sad and I thought I could literally feel the sadness that Jane was trying to portray. The lyrics are somewhat an accurate reflection of how we look at relationships don't they. Now and then before we even have time to think, we become head over heels in love without a care in the world, but when the other person doesn't feel the same way for you anymore, you can't help but start to find excuses for how young and foolish and irrational we all are. It's sad though, having to find an excuse for loving someone "irrationally".

But whoever said love was meant to be rational?

Recommended for anyone who needs a good cry now and then.

I so love jazz.
